In the land of Shire, there are 3 kingdoms, each ruled over by a queen. The queens are all sisters, fight a lot, and are each very different from each other. At the end of every month, they hold a ball at one of the 3 queens' palaces, to celebrate the end of an old month, and the beginning of a new one.

After each ball, rumors are often spread about the royal families, and what happens at the parties. There are 3 newspapers, one in each country, and the newspaper writers are always starved for gossip and news of what happens at the balls. Most of the time, these rumors are lies, but they can still turn people against each other.

But besides the rumors, and squabbling queens, the only problem in the land of Shire is the troublesome witches who lurk in the forests....

There are only 6 towns left in the world now, all others have disappeared mysteriously, along with all of the population over the age of 20, and under the age of 2. The people in these towns have stopped aging, too. Nobody knows what happened to the missing people, or the rest of the world, since they're too busy trying to survive. Everybody lives in one of the 6 towns: January, May, July, October, December, and Utopia. Each of the towns is unique, and has something that helps everyone survive.
