Anyone who watched Stephen Poliakoff's fabulous drama Shooting the Past will know just what magic can be made from assembling photographs into an enchanting thread. There's nothing so ghostly as very old photographs after all, of people who are both otherworldly yet still just like us. We're tomorrow's spirits.

That aspect of otherworldliness is quite literal here, as these children are definitely peculiar, toting unusual (but not outrageous) gifts and powers. It wouldn't be correct to say that t

this book really surprised me right from the start. It wasn't at all what i was expecting! a great read with some interesting characters..i will read this again so always to me the sign of a good book :) ...more
