I expected more from this book.
For starters, the narrator isn't supposed to tell you in the beginning of each chapter what is going to happen in the end of it. Just because the author didn't want the book to have suspense, doesn't mean that I want to know everything before they happen! If you don't want suspense write a book about flowers and bears, not about the world war II.
Secondly, the metaphors.

This book is set in 1939 Nazi Germany. With that being said it should be obvious that this isn't a feel good/happy book. Narrated by death this is a beautiful and tragic tale that has well written characters.

where to begin such a good book. I couldn't put it down though a little lagging in the beginning when you get on with the story your curiosity can't control itself.
