Terrible. A total waste of time. I skipped many b-o-r-i-n-g parts. The "serious subjects" were mixed with soooo many aweful cliches..

Words cannot explain what I feel. I am so having the "feels". I was into every word, every line, and well just everything. Lucas... you stole my breath away. I love you! Jacqueline. You were just so freaking cute and sweet. Neither of them were full of themselves. They were like surprisingly normal. Erin you effing rocked! You reminded me of my best friend. Where can I begin with this beautiful story? It was so amazing and I loved it so much. It is now easily my favorite book.
As soon as I started it- I couldn't put it down. It engaged me, since the beginning line, "I had never noticed Lucas before that night."
It was such an easy read (haha get it?); and the way the author decided to write out the events was perfect. The book was written in first person and not only did it contain dialogue, but it displayed flashbacks of s Easy by Tammara Webber...
Where can I begin with this beautiful story? It was so amazing and I loved it so much. It is now easily my favorite book.
As soon as I started it- I couldn't put it down. It engaged me, since the beginning line, "I had never noticed Lucas before that night."
It was such an easy read (haha get it?); and the way the author decided to write out the events was perfect. The book was written in first person and not only did it contain dialogue, but it displayed flashbacks of specific events to help the reader understand it better.
The characters were perfectly flawed and they each had their own secrets and fears, but they also gave me, as a reader, hope.
Strange, right? Not many books give us hope, even those that were written for that specific purpose. Now, I'm not saying that other books haven't given me a nice and warm feeling inside my stomach, but it didn't touch my heart. Many books that I have read have given me understanding, inspiration, happiness, and a sweet sense of nostalgia, but never hope.
Now, at first I didn't understand the title of the book because the protagonist, Jacqueline, and her best friend, Erin, are anything but easy. But as the story progressed, i began to understand why Webber chose it.
The book revolves around rape, and even though it is not mention in the review or summary, that's what it revolves around.
Yes, it is a love story, but the main message and theme of the novel revolves around rape.
I'm not going in to detail because my reviews house the purpose of just expressing my opinion.
I wish it would have mentioned something about the topic in the summary so I could have been prepared, but either way. Now, the story didn't go into horrible detail of the accounts, but it did explain the aftermath and how the victims felt afterwards and the things they did to help them get through it.
And because I always have to add my favorite character, Landon Lucas Maxfield is amazing, sexy, intelligent, caring, understanding, and what I love most of all, he understands the meaning of "no" and "stop". Did I mention he can fight and draw? Oh well, let me just throw that in there.
Also, I really loved the female character, Jacqueline. She was strong, talented, and brave. She's a fighter and I guess I had Webber to thank for that. Many books portray the female characters as weak and dependent and they do grow, but towards the end and they don't recognize their worth, but in this novel, it was different.
Jacqueline was dependent on her ex, Kennedy, but throughout the entire book she grew and became a strong and brave young woman. She also began to believe in herself and have hope. Ah, yes, that word comes back. But I'm not going to go into details.
This book declares a woman's right to fight back and to never back down from a rape assault. It inspires us and gives us hope that we do matter, and that nothing, nothing is our fault.
I suggest everyone reads this book. It's amazingly written with great and loving characters and it sends such a beautiful and hopeful message.

Juliet a talented musician gives up a performing arts school to go to university with her high school boyfriend Kennedy only to be dumped by him two weeks later. After suffering through a party where her ex-boyfriend is interested in everyone but her she leaves and gets attacked but lucky for Juliet she is saved by a handsome guy from her economics class.

Great book. Even greater characters. Lucas was perfect. Even if all that watching thing was kinda stalkerish XD Kidding, kidding! He had to draw something, right?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, and it was almost a five star read for me. It was interesting from the start, as the attack and meeting Lucas happens within the first few chapters, and the rest of the plot continues to develop at a steady pace from there. I was certainly never bored. I found the romance between Lucas and Jacqueline sweet yet complicated, with a great evolution from lust to actual genuine feelings for each other.

However, a few things prevented this book from getting a five star rating from me. First, I didn't like Jacqueline very much. I didn't hate her or anything, but she definitely doesn't fall into my list of favourite characters. I feel like she was kind of judgemental at times, particularly based on peoples' appearances, and while nothing she thought or said seemed outright rude, I just got a really judgemental vibe from some of the stuff that she said.

I also think that the author failed to portray Lucas as a "bad boy". I'm pretty sure that this was the image she was going for, considering the way that the characters continually refer to Jacqueline's quest to hook up with Lucas as "Operation Bad Boy Phase". At one point, Jacqueline actually thinks "he was cocky and self-assured" (pg 65). Self-assured, sure. But cocky? I just didn't see that in him.

I feel like the author used stereotypes, such as tattoos and piercings, to try to frame Lucas as some type of rebel or bad boy, but it really didn't work. His actions, aside from keeping secrets and some deceptive behavior, was respectful, flirty, and implied intelligence and artistic talent. Sure, he certainly wasn't perfect, and had his faults. However, he did not, in my opinion, fall into the "bad boy" category. I think that this was a case of trying to develop characterization through "telling" or thoughts, as opposed to the actual actions of the characters, which I really don't like in a book. As for Lucas himself, and the way I perceived him, I actually really liked him.

In the end, while this was an enjoyable book, it failed to get five stars from me because I didn't exactly like Jacqueline, and Lucas didn't come across as Jacqueline and her friends claimed they perceived him.

I recommend this book to those who like contemporary romances. If you're into new adult books and aren't sure what to read next, this would be a great choice. ...more

OMG.

This was really good. I expected a contemporary romance. This is so much more. The book deals with real issues that our society is uncomfortable with.

Considering that 1 in 4 college females will be raped, this book is incredibly important. Webber managed to discuss and examine very real, very serious issues while still making an incredible romance and coming of age story.

Everyone should read this, especially young people.
