5 utterly brilliant and beautiful stars for this book and couple

Unfortunately for me, when I started reading this book I got sick

Let me just say that I only read this book for because I love the Cut and Run series. That said, this book was a let down for me. I didn't get any of the heat and buildup from Julian and Cam that I got from Zane and Ty. They were totally lukewarm. I didn't get a sense of why they loved each other either. Because Cam was so loving and Julian was so hot?? The spark wasn't there for me in this book. I still love Abigail Roux's writing and found it an enjoyable read but it was lackluster for me.

4 BIG, HUGE, HUMONGOUS, ENORMOUS, MASSIVE STARS!!!

It would have been a perfect 5, but for some reason one of the main characters(read: Cameron) annoyed me to the highest level. So even though he's a male I am putting him on my stupid-irritating-heroin shelf because I did feel like he was some chick and not a guy while reading it.
About the story
Simple, normal and boring waiter Cameron has a crush on one of the guests in the restaurant where he works, but little does he know that that ENIGMATIC, ...more

Final rating: 3.5/5 stars
So...i read this only because Cameron and Julian appear in the Cut & Run series, or so i have heard. But it can be read as standalone as well, so you can read it without reading Cut & run at all. Anyway, it was interesting book, bu ...more
“Would you believe me if I told you I was shot?” he finally asked with a mischievous glint in his black eyes.
Cameron stared at him. “Shot? Like, shot? By a gun?”
Julian tilted his head and nodded. “It’s hard to be shot with a knife.”

4 AMAZING STARS!!
After finding out that Julian and Cameron are in the Cut and Run series ,"Armed and Dangerous" I had to read this first. WOW I FREAKING LOVED THEM!! :D
I was ingtrigued by Julian Cross from the start. He was a total mystery. Cameron didn't know much about him except he always showed up at the restaurant on Tuesdays and sat at the same table and ordered the same things. Julian was a powerful bad-ass alpha, who seemed dangerous, was very good looking, quiet, and looked capable of d ...more

I read this after I read Armed & Dangerous, which Julian Cross and Cameron Jacobs co-starred :D So, naturally I was curious, I felt that I have to know these guys. I wish I read this first, because in A&D their characters were more interesting. Well, I'm trying to understand this book tells their story from the first time they met.
This was enjoyable, I like Cam despite his insecurities, I think it's normal and cute ;D. Julian is typical alpha male heroes and I wish the story gave us more about J ...more

LOVED IT!!! 4.5 STARS
As a complete neophyte to the m/m genre, I have to say, I am completely hooked on these boys!!! There is nothing more exciting than to read about two dynamic male characters falling in love with each other. I cannot tell you how much I loved this book, the storyline, and it’s leading men!!!! Abigail Roux is a fabulous storyteller, and this book is just another great example.

I love the cut & run series but I was not at all impressed with Julian and Cameron, to me their relationship was completely lacking in everything but sex. No honesty, no dating, just nothing. I'm so glad I read this after armed & dangerous because if I had read this first I would have been dreading reading the other book but that book was great. But Ty and Zane are always great.

2.5 rounded to 3
I found the dialog in the book quite stilted and awkward and choppy. The reason why I wanted to read this book was 'cos the premise was kinda nice. But that got resolved sort-of by the first 60 pages or so...
Somehow, I was just not able to associate the voice of Cameron to be male. It felt female through and through. That was one of my pet-peeves with this book. Which contributed even more to the awkward dialog. Gay men, for the most part, still talk like men not women...IMHO.
