Every new Gena Showalter series I pick up fascinates me further. Whether it’s her paranormal adult novels or her YA books, I’m always highly entertained. This series is no exception! This is a hard book for me to rate. The idea seemed fun but I just found it too religious. I mean she may as well just chucked a sermon at me. It was like Christian rock, trying really hard to be something but ultimately it's just a god sell, which just doesn't appeal to me.

I really enjoyed this book! I can't wait to read the next one. I was hesitant to read it. I tend to avoid scary books due to the very vivid nightmares I frequently have. Don't let the title fool you! This book is not scary! I was a little bit turned off halfway through as I found the love story reminding me of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan from Twilight (except that Ali, despite her dumb decisions was much more bad ass and less annoying). ...more

What a touch and go book for me. I liked it but kinda expected a lil more. The were some cool twists and def some great characters with some super emotional parts. Hoping that book 2 steps it up!
