And by amazing, I mean AMAZINGLY AWFUL!

This novel makes 'The Wicker Man' look like cinema vérité, and YES I am referring to the shiteous remake starring Nichoals Cage. If you love kitsch and over-the-top sensationalistic pulp fiction, plus Satanism hysteria: here's the book for you! Ira Levin writes like the best hack writer of all time. Having no prior knowledge of the story and still correctly predicting what was going to happen spoiled it for me. Plus I think Rosemary could have fought a little harder and am horrified by her reaction toward her Devil child. That would be the scariest part of the whole book.

A horror classic I was inspired to read after The Perfect Nanny. Both bring terror to the safest of places: your own home, your neighbors and the people you should be able to most rely on. This one had the perfect amount of creepiness and built up tension, it was very enjoyable!

I also saw the original and faithful 1968 movie adaptation by Roman Polanski. Both book and movie are fantastic. ...more
