4 1/2 stars. Neil Gaiman has cracked me up, creeped me out, driven me to misty-eyed sniffles, and held me in awe - his writing being what it is. The Ocean at The End of the Lane is artfully written and very difficult to set down as it transports you into the new world of this story on the very first page.

A wonderful storyteller with vivid imagery.
I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by the author and it was excellent.
A mystical look at childhood.
Not my usual genre but I thought this was really well done.
