Well, I have finally finished one of the most successful young adult books of recent history, and I honestly couldn't be happier. Although often compared to "Hunger Games," this is a book that deserves its own special spotlight. It is the first in a series, and I am glad I read it before the movie comes out.

I realize that I tend to rate books on a forgiving scale and that I am no discerning critic of literature, but any book that I cannot WAIT to get back to or have an extremely hard time putting down will always get 5 stars from me. Yes, Divergent is a futuristic, revolutionary novel like The Hunger Games, but it was written in a completely different manner. A coming of age dystopian novel. A little too much like Hunger Games in some ways, but there was also a lot of things that I liked more than the first HG book. Tris is interesting and hopefully the author really propels her into a strong and interesting character.
