This book was fine but not great. As always Julia Whelan makes the story better with her narration.

I didn't really buy why this couple should be together except for proximity. Also it's weird to house swap when your fiance runs off with someone else's girlfriend. No matter how small the town.

I also question a children's librarian who plans a read-a-thon to run from 6 pm to 6 am for preschoolers and elementary school kids. Why didn't she have the volunteers set up on Friday night and run the eve ...more

It's a 'Funny Story' as when you first start reading the book, there's a perception of how the story is going to progress. While there are chapters hat continue that trajectory, Emily Henry pens a novel that's full of heart & humorously while emotionally depicts Daphne's second chance. Henry weaves throughout protagonist's triumphs & tribulations the importance of loving yourself before committing to and depending on someone else. ...more
