TWISTY HORROR THRILLER.. BUT NOT WHAT I EXPECTED GOING IN.

3,5 STARS rounded up to 4.

I have read Riley Sager’s previous book, FINAL GIRLS and had fun with it. When I picked up a copy of this one, I expected the same kind of fun, twisty horror thiller. Here is my in depth review: https://youtu.be/AfdFfiw62Do

This completely lived up to my expectations!

Synopsis: After her father's death, Maggie Holt returns to the house she and her family fled from 25 years earlier, and the subject of her father's non-fiction book recounting the haunting that occurred there. Maggie doesn't believe a word of it, and is back to remodel the house to sell it. But soon strange events start happening to make her question what she thought she knew.

I DEVOURED this. If it wasn't Sunday night, I would have stayed up through

What a fantastic story! It's been a while since I've read such a good mystery-- though there are some pretty scary parts in here that rival Stephen King.

Told in two alternating parts - the Book written about the alleged hauntings and the current story, 25 years later - we follow Maggie Holt as she returns to the house after the death of her father. With many characters and a few different histories, I occasionally lost track of the different families involved and had to st ...more

The ending was a little too convenient and some of the twists too predictable. I liked the idea of two books in one.
