First - let's get this out there: THIS BOOK NEEDS TO HAVE A TRIGGER WARNING!!
It's irresponsible to throw something so brutal into the first few pages without a trigger warning. As someone who battles depression -you can't just throw something out there so nonchalantly. I was lucky someone read it first and prepared me for it, but I couldn't pick up the book for awhile until I was in the right headspace for it. Seems like others didn't get that heads-up and that's grade A baloney.

I really really really wanted to love this novel. Partly because I related so well to Nora, and partly because I loved the concept of the infinite possibility library where you can live out alternate realities. But this one fell so flat for me. Haig has some really powerful and beautiful lines but they are overpowered by the obvious message that he keeps thunking us over the head with. We can see where the story is going and yet for such a short book it feels like it took forever to get there.

This was such a difficult, but interesting read. I can’t really say that it was “enjoyable” but I am very glad to have read it.

- There is no rejection, there is only redirection.
- You don’t have to understand life. You just have to live it.
- Never underestimate the big importance of small things.
- We only need to be one person. We only need to feel one existence. We don't have to do everything in order to be everything, because we are already infinite. While we are alive we always contain a future of multifarious possibility.
- Never trust someone who is willingly rude to low-paid service staff.

“I’m Alive!” She says! And you will feel it too, after you read this tale of a life that was once full of longing and regret - and is told in a fantastic new way that will spin you around on your head, turn you inside out, shake you a little and return you, a little less jaded and perhaps a smidge less regretful. If not, close the book and go back to the beginning and start again - clearly, you missed something! A heck of a ride.

The hype almost put me off, but curiosity prevailed, and I'm so glad it did! This is a GOOD story! And one I can see visiting again.
