What Members Thought
Loved how Ware created a "Smart House" that's like a 21st-century Manderley :-) Great buildup with the plot. The ending? Not so much. It kind of works, but 'kind of works' isn't the best thing to go for if you're writing a mystery. Agatha Christie did this type of ending much better in one of her books (and it was also a shocker to polite society at the time). The last few chapters in Ware's book definitely felt rushed and disjointed. This is my first Ware book- I may give another one a shot.

I should have recognized it with the title alone - that this story would closely resemble The Turn of the Screw. Knowing that, I can see the parallels and really appreciate them. But I also like that this one went off on it's own - giving more details and a full explanation in the end.
