What Members Thought
Loved how Ware created a "Smart House" that's like a 21st-century Manderley :-) Great buildup with the plot. The ending? Not so much. It kind of works, but 'kind of works' isn't the best thing to go for if you're writing a mystery. Agatha Christie did this type of ending much better in one of her books (and it was also a shocker to polite society at the time). The last few chapters in Ware's book definitely felt rushed and disjointed. This is my first Ware book- I may give another one a shot.

This one had me on pins and needles!!! I love it when I can't figure something out and this one definitely had me confused. Throughout the read, I had the impending death of one of those girls on my mind which of course made it that much sadder. I was frustrated at times with Rowen, confused why she wasn't startled by the window or paying it any mind until the end. But, other than that, I couldn't wait to reach the end. It was suspenseful and tragic. Poor Maddie. Poor Rowen.
