Such a great book! Ng has an easy, highly readable style and she is brilliant enough to explore multiple aspects of our culture at once. Her exploration of social issues is similar to Jodi Picoult but more literary.
This novel completely absorbed me. So much so that I chose to stay home and read on a Saturday night instead of going to a Christmas market with my husband. The thought of leaving this book before knowing how and if it would all work out was heartwrenching. In the end, I couldn't resist the lure of this story and these characters.

Wow, I was immediately pulled into this story; I found the characters believable, sympathetic, maddening, cringe worthy and fascinating.
I wasn't sure about the preview when I read it but it was very talked about and I wanted to check it out. So I did and I think it was a great story, not sure if Hulu will ruin it for me but that is why I always read the book first
