What Members Thought
When this book first came out a few years ago I remember it being widely read and receiving much praise. So my expectations were high when I picked it up, which might have had a negative effect on my experience. I enjoyed reading it and actually read it in only one or two sittings but when I was done I couldn't figure out what the big deal was.

Glad to have had an opportunity to see inside the lives of women in Japan during this time in history. Wonderful story with real-like characters. Would like to see the movie.
