Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine ~~ Gail Honeyman

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine had been on my radar for a while due to all the raves I had seen here about Honeyman's debut novel. People were going bonkers over it and leaped lavish praise upon this book. I was excited when my mother's book club choose this as the

I would rate this a 4.5 star if I could. I absolutely loved Eleanor. ( The only reason I hesitate slightly to give it a full five stars has everything to do with "Little Fires Everywhere" which still resonates with me so much that every book I've read since can't help but be not quite as good. It made me laugh out loud several times and tear up several times. The beauty of the novel for me is that no matter how bad things got, or were revealed to have been for Eleanor, I never lost hope for her.

I had been waiting and waiting to pick up this book. It was not exactly as I imagined. It was a bit slow going at first. It took a beat to totally connect to the characters, especially if I didn't LIKE them. But once I figured them out a bit more, I couldn't stop turning the pages to see what happens next.
Now I know why so many were raving about this when it came out.
