There are so many books written covering the unbelievably heartbreaking plight of those who endured & sacrificed during World War II. I highly recommend Hannah's, The Nightingale as one of those must reads regarding the magnitude & affects of World War II. ...more

My sister bought this for me as a Christmas gift and I just devoured it in less than two days.
It was one of the best books I’ve read in a very long time.
It completely tore my heart out. Ugly sobbing occurred
It’s beautifully written, it’s a beautiful story, it’s historically accurate and it sheds light on the stories of the untold female heroes of war that often aren’t told.
Go and read it.

This book had me in tears and I couldn't put it down; especially the ending. It's the story of two sisters (Vianne and Isabelle) trying to survive and resist German occupation in France. I loved the back and forth point of view from both sisters who are so different but we were really able to understand their love, fear, loss and pain. A wonderful read! ...more

I don’t gravitate naturally towards historical fiction novels, but this one came so highly recommended that I couldn’t not read it. Very compelling story. I couldn’t stop reading it! So glad I read it and would definitely recommend it to others.
