I picked up this book in the library about two months ago, I did not read it and no real reason as to why. Then I started it and while I thought it was interesting, mostly this idea that you wake up with no memories, it was not as exciting as other books I had in my possession. At any rate I returned the book to the library with plans to recheck it out and finish it. Well a month passes and I finally got the opportunity to pick it up again and wow I am really glad I did.

This book starts out with an I-can’t-catch-my-breath downhill rollercoaster feeling and keeps twisting and turning until I had to put the book down, utterly worn out from Myfawny Thomas’s adventures. Good action. I was sometimes really bothered by the snarkiness of the internal comments by the main character. They just didn’t fit with the dire circumstances she was in sometimes. Sometimes they were funny, just not always. It also bothered me that we didn’t get to know where her new personality came from! But, overall, full of action and definitely a new take on supernatural humans in our every day world.

Fast paced mix of uniquely powered operatives and a human touch as a newly enabled member of a secret government agency finds herself faced with managing her responsibilities while retaining her own autonomy.

I really enjoyed this book. I especially enjoyed Myfanwy's sense of humor. I hope there is a sequel as I would love to see this character again with a forward progressing plot, versus one based in the past. ...more
