I’ve made it to the Throne of Glass Series! FINALLY! I am one of those people who decided to read the entire MaasVerse. What was I thinking lol? I think it was the Crescent City FOMO 🤣

Now we all know how I feel about Feyre, so I felt a wall built around myself when I began to read Celaena’s story. Safe to say, I do like Celaena! TO A CERTAIN EXTENT! I appreciate her because she is a person that walks the walk and actually talks the talk (compared to the beginnings of Feyre), but holy smoke! Sarah J Maas LOVES pigheaded, selfish, manipulative female leads who whine whine whine whine whine! All the time!!! Why?! These leads literally kill a series for me and made it kind of hard to read until halfway through the book. The arrogance is so off putting for me, but I’m holding out for her supporting characters. Like ACOTAR, I’m probably going to love the “Inner Circle” more than the actual lead character.

I am LOVING the world building and the connections between ACOTAR and TOG so far and can’t wait to see where this leads when I get to Crescent City. I understand why people re-read this series. So many clues and Easter eggs are revealed (I’m hoping) that the MaasVerse becomes addictive. I really like that!

I will say that one thing I didn’t like about my TOG book 1 experience is the narrator for the audiobook. The narrator, Elizabeth Evans, sounds so unnatural and her voice for male characters is constantly aggressive. The fluctuations in tone of voice the way she portrays has me frowning and confused sometimes because I have never heard people say such sentences in that way. It almost makes me want to toss all the audiobooks I got for the series. But she is widely loved and I heard her Crescent City narration is amazing, so I’m holding out and hoping that her narrations throughout the TOG Series will only get better and better.

I can’t wait to truly dig my fingers in this series and drown in this world!
