I enjoyed reading this book. I really liked it. I thought two teens who wouldn't have met otherwise have an opportunity to be friends and date. I thought Eleanor's home life bordered on abusive with her stepfather. I seriously didn't think he was that great of a catch and I couldn't understand why her mother want to be with a person like that. She do better on her own as a single parent. If this is an example of the current trend in young-adult books towards becoming more realistic, then I'm all for it! I loved Eleanor; I loved Park; I loved the complexities of how Park's parents interacted with him and with each other. In some ways, Eleanor is reminiscent of Stargirl, though her home situation and the direction that forces the story are very different.
