Like Catcher in the Rye, this is a story of many revelations over a very short period of time. It has an interesting religious angle as well, sort of like a 50s' version of Siddhartha.

This is one of those books that I love so much it almost feels too sacred to even begin to describe it. I relate to it on some deep level that my mind can barely comprehend. It makes me feel all sorts of things, yet I can't explain why. This is my favorite of all Salinger's works, I think. There is just something so honest about it; it points to something so real, yet so hard to articulate.
