I always want to read more classics, since that's not a genre I read a lot, but when I do I usually don't enjoy them that much...this book is a perfect example of that. It was interesting seeing Griffin deal with the curse of his "invention". I did like the descriptions of the rooms and people, but the way they spoke was hard to understand. Maybe I'd need to reread it to fully get the story, but I don't know if I care enough for that.

I never liked Tom and Jerry much -- it was just too much of the characters chasing each other around and not much of anything else. That's how the first half of this book felt to me -- like Tom and Jerry with humans. My interest increased slightly just before the invisible man starts telling his own story. I still wouldn't say I loved the rest of the book, but maybe I would have liked it as a whole if Wells's editor had cut out the first fifteen chapters.
