Super great humor, good story and awesome characters - now wouldn’t you want to read something with those elements in one?

I started reading this book without any expectations just this certain need to know what the hype is all about and the high ratings here on GR so I was really oh so surprised to find that behind the not so complimentary cover is a sweet, funny and pretty hot story!

Sometimes we all need an escape to complicated stories and simply dive into a world where it feels like nothing c Super great humor, good story and awesome characters - now wouldn’t you want to read something with those elements in one?

I started reading this book without any expectations just this certain need to know what the hype is all about and the high ratings here on GR so I was really oh so surprised to find that behind the not so complimentary cover is a sweet, funny and pretty hot story!

Sometimes we all need an escape to complicated stories and simply dive into a world where it feels like nothing could go wrong; a story that’s almost similar to a fairytale. I'm one of those who loved happily ever after and this book totally gives us those dreamy unrealistic stuffs that we girls crave for. Yes, it’s unrealistic in a very complimentary way but it’s also an escape of sorts and if you’re a girl I know you crave stories like that.

The story was also full of extreme funny moments and lines. I was in serious constant giggling mode while reading it. Let me share to you some of those funny lines:

No, I really did. I walked into that room and saw the hottest sexiest guy I’ve ever seen- wet and half naked. And I said “Ewww”? I know. How am I still single, right?

“Holy shit,” he breathes. “Is this the girl that ate you?”
“Ha, no. You’re funny.” I snatch my picture back.
“So I was super fat. It’s my father’s fault. He never hugged me.”
“So, what, you ate him?”

The characters are all so good! I love them all.
Violet is just so hilarious. I immediately love her awkward, smart-ass and witty attitude. Oh My! I even see myself on her at times which is really weird and funny. Her mom was and best friend Lauren was just as hilarious. The three of them are like cut up from the same cloth!

Zane is sweet, gorgeous and hot. There were some scenes between him and Emily that shouted extreme sexual tension! And I immediately felt it. They were just so amazing together.

The complication on the story is something that I didn’t really expect. I honestly have a few guesses but none of them come near the truth and the truth didn’t even actually cross my mind. After finding out I know you might find it cliché or overused or mainstream but I love it. It ended good for me.

Funny moments greatly mixed with the pretty steamy ones - Falling For The Ghost of You is one entertaining book to read. I honestly didn’t get bored. If you something light and funny read be sure to pick this one up. ...more

Zane and Violet are great together. Their chemistry is jumping off the pages. (yes, it is kinda skeazy-that they are now sorta family and then hook up - but it never really felt like a close family between Zane and Bill.)

So Violet's mom meets this guy trapped in elevator and falls heads over heels in love. They decide to get married after two months. (yeah, I know super fast - but after ok I started reading this for a scavenger hunt. so I have to say thanks b/c I really loved reading this book. Zane and Violet are great together. Their chemistry is jumping off the pages. (yes, it is kinda skeazy-that they are now sorta family and then hook up - but it never really felt like a close family between Zane and Bill.)

So Violet's mom meets this guy trapped in elevator and falls heads over heels in love. They decide to get married after two months. (yeah, I know super fast - but after you hear the mom's back story - you kinda understand the living in the moment thing) So Violet was gone to spend time with her grandmother and this gets sprung on her when she gets back. So, its like a rags to riches thing - because they weren't exactly poor but they weren't that well-off either. But Bill is very well-off, like he struck oil and gold - well off. :)

Anyway back to the story. So, Violet goes to meet up with her boyfriend, Matt. Well, come to find out Matt and Rachel have gotten close and he cheated on Violet with Rachel. Well, this of-course upsets Violet (can you blame her - wow talk about getting life turned upside down) and she leaves crying and being accident prone - has an incident occur with the front door. (you got to read the book - :)) Well this uber hot guy helps her which laters comes to find out is going to be her new step-brother Zane. Talk about awkward!
Zane takes it all in stride and tries to make her feel better. (How sweet!) Well, Violet's mom and Bill take an pre-wedding honeymoon. (ok- a little backwards here but whatever!) So, Violet was supposed to stay with family but something comes up and has to find a place to stay until they come back. Well, Zane is staying at the poolhouse while they are away. So, she stays with him until then. They start-off as friends-sort of (well, how can you not with all the women going through like a revolving door - really ZANE!!!) Then after a while sparks start to fly and they start a "secret" relationship. (Though I don't know how secret it is - when everyone keeps catching them or you can see the attraction a mile off) But, not all is rainbows and butterflies - Zane has a secret. This will turn Violet world upside down. But in the end - everything works out! YAY FOR VANE!! (Violet + Zane) (You didn't think I was going to say the secret did you?? Nope - you need to read the book.)
I like the writing style - like she(Violet) was telling us her story. Hope you enjoy reading it too!!!! ...more

OMG! This was hilarious!! I laughed so hard I almost peed in my pants! This book was all kinds of fabulous!!! I haven't written a review in ages but I just had to find the time to write one for "Falling for the Ghost of You". I loved, loved, loved this!!! Honestly, the moment I finished it I wanted to go and tell everyone how great it was. It was utterly romantic and at the same time laugh-out-loud funny. Despite all the funny situations the story had depth and the characters felt real.

I adored Violet, I would love to have her as my best friend. She's sometimes insecure but she has spunk and the way she sometimes just says what's on her mind is refreshing and makes for some really funny scenes. And then there is Zane. Oooh, baby, he's my new number one book boyfriend! :-) He's funny and hot as hell! If I didn't like Violet so much I would have been seriously jealous of her. Really, I want a Zane of my own! But okay, I have to admit that the story works so well because these two are just perfect for each other. I really got the feeling that they belong together. They are friends before they become a couple and you can see that they have a lot in common. But ooh, the sexual chemistry between them is pretty hot, especially for a young adult/new adult book. I'm not sure in which category I would place this. Violet is seventeen and Zane is twenty, so age-wise it's both or in-between but due to the sexual content I would recommend this for older teens. It's not too graphic but there are some make-out scenes and sex in the book.
I didn't care for the twist towards the end of the book, hadn't seen it coming either as I didn't read any spoilery reviews before, but I guess most people won't mind. But for me the feeling of the story just changed after that and I couldn't get this perfect vibe back. I think it was unnecessary because Zane's character was already perfect before the big reveal and it didn't make him any more interesting or sexy than he already was.
But this is a small complaint in an otherwise great, great, great story and I can't recommend this book highly enough! You just have to read it it's wonderful! I can't believe that Nicole Christie hasn't written any other books - at least I couldn't find any. I will stay on the look-out and will buy anything she writes. Yep, she's that good! :-)

Brief summary: When Violet comes home from her summer vacation, it's to discover that her mom has fallen in love and is getting married. While her mother and soon to be stepfather are away on a Pre-honeymoon, she spends time with her hot, older step-brother, Zane. Soon their attraction has them in a relationship together, but Violet doesn't know if she can trust her heart to someone as irresistible to women as Zane. In the end, all secrets are revealed and there's a happy ending for all.

Falling for the Ghost of You is a contemporary romance between a girl and her soon to be step-brother.

The book is a fun read, no doubt. I found myself laughing and snorting all through this book. The story line is interesting however a bit predictable; the main and secondary characters are developed well however the secondary relationships just didn't seem genuine to me. I really tried to keep my OCD ways in check and just tried to enjoy the story but there are certain things that I just can't ...more

This wasn't really a New Adult read, it was pretty juvenile. That being said Violet had me laughing out loud in a few places. The biggest issue I had with this book, was I kind of saw the reveal coming so it kind of ruined the rest of the book for me. I'd give 3 out of 3 stars. ...more
