The first Gena Showalter book I've read and it's holy freaking A-mazing!! Argggghhhh! I loved the CREATIVITY. Alice in Wonderland + Zombies. Who can thought about that? Really. With the title only, I'll give this 5 stars immediately. It's a new one for me cause it's also my first zombie book. I regret not reading this SOONER and I want to kick myself for it. But at least I got the courage and tada! I've read it!

Ok this is a different then what I was expecting. This is not your typical zombie/apocalypse book. Ok there isn't much of an alice in wonderland feeling other than a few references of cloud shapes wonderland items - rabbit, cup, saucer. I was confused for a little while because I kept looking for the wonderland (zombieland) feeling or thing. It didn't happen. Ok, sure there is zombies that only certain "special" people can see. That doesn't make a zombieland - that makes a bunch of crazy people. ...more

I didn't like the story initially and I thought the story is inspired by Alice in Wonderland tale (*which is not except the name and the rabbit cloud thing*) but as I slowly got to know know the characters, I began to fell in love with the story and the characters. The mysteries surrounding Alice's abilities is one of the reasons that kept me going on reading the book. It is yet to be reveal to why only Alice's spirit is poisonous to the zombies or why only she could read the journal or even the ...more
