Beautiful, lyrical, powerful, hopeless and hopeful. It still rings as truth decades after it was written.
Lyrical, heartbreaking and moving. I can remember the descriptions of the countryside 40 years later. I can also remember being very moved by the story and trying to grasp how complicated the world was and is. It's time for a reread.
