message 9: by Deborah (new)

Deborah (brandiec) | 103 comments Thanks for posting about the Kindle deal, Sue! My public library doesn't have Lost Souls, so if I have to buy it for a group read, $1.99 can't be beat.

message 10: by Carol (new)

Carol | 7657 comments Heeeyyyy, you think maybe since amazon is a relative of goodreads.
Hee hee!

You're very welcome Deborah.

message 13: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 8227 comments I have just started Stoner and am having one of my frequent moments of thankfulness for Constant Reader. This is outstanding writing and i would never have heard of it without this group.

message 14: by Sherry, Doyenne (new)

Sherry | 8261 comments I'm going to start it today, too, Barb. I'm really looking forward to it.

message 15: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2322 comments I just hope I remember to start the Stoner discussion, since it's right after our spring term starts! :)

message 16: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 11084 comments I've already read it. Loved it, and wouldn't mind reading it again. Just wish I could remember where the book is. There are three possibilities

1) the library
2) my Kindle
3) my chaotic bookshelves

The bookshelves are definitely the most difficult for me to locate anything. No rhyme or reason at all!!

If only mine were!

message 20: by Linda (new)

Linda (verywordy) | 9 comments I'm so glad that Stoner is this month's book. I've had it on my to read list for a while but I wasn't sure that I would love a book about a male professor in the 1930's. It sounded like it might be a period piece but I was SO wrong. I'm about a third of the way through and I'm enthralled by the writing. I'm looking forward to the start of the discussion.

Barbara | 8227 comments 200th anniversary! That makes it a good year for Constant Reader to revisit it as well.
