Thanks for posting about the Kindle deal, Sue! My public library doesn't have Lost Souls, so if I have to buy it for a group read, $1.99 can't be beat.

I have just started Stoner and am having one of my frequent moments of thankfulness for Constant Reader. This is outstanding writing and i would never have heard of it without this group.
I just hope I remember to start the Stoner discussion, since it's right after our spring term starts! :)
I've already read it. Loved it, and wouldn't mind reading it again. Just wish I could remember where the book is. There are three possibilities1) the library
2) my Kindle
3) my chaotic bookshelves

The bookshelves are definitely the most difficult for me to locate anything. No rhyme or reason at all!!
I'm so glad that Stoner is this month's book. I've had it on my to read list for a while but I wasn't sure that I would love a book about a male professor in the 1930's. It sounded like it might be a period piece but I was SO wrong. I'm about a third of the way through and I'm enthralled by the writing. I'm looking forward to the start of the discussion.
