This second installment to James Dashner's Maze Runner series was again an exciting, brand new, mind blowing post apocalyptic novel, and for me more of all of that than the first.
I still don't know what the heck is going on...is Wicked good or bad? What the heck is their plan, and is there really anything in the world that could justify what they put these boys and girls through? I can't wrap my head around any such thing, I just can't. All I have to say is that Dashner better come up with a hel ...more

Wicked is good-- for giving our characters so many awful problems therefore keeping us entertained from start to finish.
Thomas and the crew are still not safe. Wicked didn't rescue them...yet. The team must first cross a scorching hot desert in order to get a cure for a disease that will ultimately kill them (yup, our poor boys are infected. There is a girl in there too, but I don't really care for her character.) If our heroes don't make it on time to the site, they will all perish.

Loved it!! Throwing up the stars right after finishing. No doubt about it for me this time.
This one was a lot more action but in its own way a little more simpler than the first book. They were both almost equal for me. I love cool world building when its done right which is what book 1 was. There was less world building but a lot more character interaction and a lot more ACTION. It totally had my head spinning and I'm still lost on what to think of some of the characters. So glad that Minoh is ...more

Ahh.
The majority of the book I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. The whole time, I kept trying to figure out who to trust, who is lying about what and really, just what is happening to the Gladers. Everything keeps saying WICKED is good, but it's hard to believe it when they are putting them through these crazy trials.
Ugh.
The ending.
Why??
I have to know more now. ...more

A little frustrating due to the lack of answers, however, I did really enjoy this book. It was packed full of action and very fast paced. If you can take the heat, it's time for the scorch trials.

Only one thing ruined my love for the sequel: stupid love triangle! We don't need it! >< The world is ending, like come on! O.o
I was excited to read this because Maze Runner was such an awesome start to the series and this book too had a great start but came along Brenda and the stupid love triangle that's SO UNNECESSARY in every book with a guy as a lead (coz they're so dumb!) so I gave up halfway then scanned through the last chapters on Nov5 just to get it over with...

While I won't tell you I loved this installment, it wasn't terrible. But something about the scenery here didnt suck me in the way the Maze Runner did. I felt like I had more disconnect from the characters, and more questions than I ended MR with.
But I can't wait to read the third, the Death Cure and see if it all wraps up! ...more
