I've waited so long to write the review that I don't even feel like describing it. I will say that it was a bloated read, full of repetitive self-loathing, self-condemnation, self- recriminations and other self stuff from the dictionary.

This was a "hopeful wish" read. I saw this huge hardcover book (I ended up listening on audio though) and assumed it had to contain a wonderful story in there. So, I started to read and the beginning grabbed me and I heard some really cool names, read about some ...more

4.5 pretty darn epic start to a series! I really struggled with the rating on this one. For 90% of the book I knew it was going to be a 4.5 but figured I was going to swing it down. Then the last 10% of the book was finger gripping awesome. Almost enough to get that fifth star glowing. Now I'm talking about a book that was around 1200 kindle pages so believe me that the last 10% was actually a good chunk of book. I feel like if it was shorter it probably would have been better.
