This is one of those books that I don’t think could get over hyped. This is what I was expecting when I read Angelfall. To be BLOWN AWAY! With the world building out of the way, this book was full steam ahead right from the get go. Again Penryn stole the show with her out of the box thinking and kickass moves but there were plenty of others that helped make this book awesome. I'm so excited that this book is here and I'm not disappointed with it either, which is always a worry when the excitement has built for so long. There was just so much action and we learnt such a lot about what's going on with the angels and with Penryn's family. If before you read this book you think you know where it's going, let me tell you, you don't! It is just one non-stop, heart racing thriller of a book. I would go as far as to call it absolutely horrific at times too.

I think this is a most difficult rating I've ever had to do!

0% to 70% is a 3 stars: I was glad to have Penryn's dark sarcastic humour back; and to see some interesting character development with Paige and Mom.
Obi and Dee-Dum even made me smile a couple of times, but the story didn't pick up. It was just Penryn's endless quest to seek her sister.

Now came 70% to 100%, there I would give it a 5 stars. I really loved it, I was back in book one, it was beautiful, emotional, full of actions, so captiv ...more

Somewhere between 4 and 4.5 stars!

I think this book wins for the longest wait time ever! I mean I read Angelfall in 2012 (I think). Either way, here's hoping that the next installment doesn't make me wait as long.

I really like this series-- its dark, suspenseful, with some romance, and overall its fresh. It's not like the other angel stories out there. I have to admit though, I"m looking forward to seeing more of Penryn and her bad@$$ self and even where things are going with Penryn and Raffe.
