This is a very creative and imaginative retelling type stories of Beauty and the Beast. As it has direct quotes from the Disney movie it's very easy to put those character, either live action or animated, into the story as you read it. However, this is not the Disney version which you'll quickly come to realize.

Y'all!!!! You know I love me some Beauty & the Beast & have read nearly every book out there that is related to the topic.
This is by far my favorite recently (I think Beauty by Susan Wilson still is my fav - I need to re-read & see if it still holds up)
But this one? I ADORED!!!!!
I wasn't even sure what it was about... & actually it kind of confused me because each chapter goes back & forth in time.
& I loved how PART I is exactly like the Beauty & the Beast story in the respective chapters... UNT ...more

It's annoying. It opens with somebody having been 10 years in a nightmare dungeon, but it also has Mrs. Potts and Cogsworth. So I have no consistent vibe, and so I cannot immerse.

I absolutely loved it. It was a dark twist on a favorite story which I loved
