Eliezer has completely turned the story around with a fabulous mixture of real science and JKRverse. The book is peppered with real life use of rationality , Bayesian Logic and psychology. It’s quite a learning experience, especially if you look up the bits you don’t understand.

Not only is this the best fanfiction I've ever read, it is among my favorite novels of all time, and so far I've only been able to read up to chapter 85.

This fan-fiction is a didactic work, covering ideas about decision making and related psychology through the uncanny medium of Harry Potter. I did dislike some parts of the book which seemed like pandering to the audience, but overall, for the fundae he gives and the plot, it is quite worth the time.

It's been great so far, but it's much easier to set up a complicated plot than it is to convincingly finish one. If he does so successfully, I will up this to five stars. ...more

When I first found this book several years ago I clearly remember feeling as though it was written for me specifically. It somehow combined my love of the Harry Potter universe with my love of science and rationality. Now, years later, I find that this HPMOR universe has mostly replaced canon in my mind.

I definitely don't think it's for everyone, and I wouldn't suggest reading it if you aren't pretty familiar with canon, but if the description sounds at all interesting to you I think it's defini
