What Members Thought

Better the second time reading it, this book is clever, funny, emotive and still relevant after nearly 30 years. The violence is almost unreadable, but taking this at face value is missing the whole point. Regardless of what Patrick Bateman is describing, there is an overwhelming sense of emptiness. The reason I didn’t rate it higher was because I think the point is pushed a little too much and the book could have been shorter.
