The ultimate piece of Arthurian legend? Perhaps.

There is so much more to this book than has been depicted in films and adaptations: much more than a King named Arthur, a Round Table, and a certain Sir Lancelot after Arthur’s wife. The adaptations have been much embellished, but Thomas Malory’s adventures had a nostalgic setting and a feeling of chivalry and honour that cannot be replicated. This was the first book about Arthur I read but I don't recommend it. It made so many scholars believe Arthur was only a fantasy. Read Eric Walmsley's book about Arthur instead and get the real deal.
