What Members Thought
This is the one that started it all, and still to this day one of the best to ever do it.
This isn’t a translation, but an adaptation, which is good as a narrative, but is not an authentic translation of the original texts, with many interpolations to fill in gaps. The substantial essay that comprises the latter half has a lot of ideas that are not supported by the text, and are instead modern ideas shoehorned onto a narrative scaffold that does not support the arguments expressed.
The narration by George Guidall of the narrative portion is sublime.
