First, I'd like to make it clear that Cinderella was my favorite Disney Princess. I've gone to great lengths to get my hands on the tape when i was little. It was hard at that time and i begged. I'm not proud of it but i begged for it. So giving this book 5 stars was a huge thing for me. I just never thought that someone could possibly rewrite the story - at least a story close to Cinderella's story, and I'd like it. I've seen every remake and every movie with the theme. But none of them came even close. So imagine my surprise when i started this book! It was - and I say this wholeheartedly - almost as good as the real Cinderella story!!! I mean... wow! I never thought I'd see this day!

Cinder is a cyborg and a mechanic. She's a teenager - although I cant even begin to imagine how she looks like cause the book didn't describe her at all - with her own shop, making money that goes straight to the account of her stepmom who is just an evil bitch most of the time, but the story wouldn't have had it any other way. One of her stepsisters Pearl, hates her guts but her other stepsister Peony loves her and is her friend. Human kind has been trying to find the cure for a plague - Letumoses, that's been ending thousands of lives on Earth and unfortunately, Peony catches it. Her stepmother sends Cinder as a guinea pig on the lab where scientists make experiments to find the cure for the plague and of course, cyborgs are better to be experimented on than humans. Only when the Scientist who is head of the operation injects the virus in Cinder's system, everything changes.

Than we have the Prince. The handsome Prince Charming - Kaito. He's a real sweetheart and also the heir to the king who passed away from Letumosis. Now in line to become emperor, the Queen of Luna (the moon) comes for a visit and asks that he accept the deal she'd proposed his late father, the emperor. The deal was for Kai to marry Queen Levana so they could make peace between the planets. Of course, Kai refuses knowing that Levana's real intention is to be Empress and rule over the Commonwealth and Earth. He refuses to give up, digging in on stories about Princess Selena, the rightful heir to the Lunar throne, the only one that could dethrone Levana. She was rumored to have escaped to Earth when Levana murdered her mother and every other Lunar in her bloodline. But everyone's been looking for the Princess for years but no one found her.

His relationship with Cinder could have been better but i liked it anyway. I liked that Cinder took the matter in her hands and in front of EVERYONE! that was fun!

Sherry chose this book for me for the Clean Your Shelf Challenge (Thank you, Sherry!) and i'm supposed to continue with the list but i cant help myself. I need to read Scarlet first. ...more

It wasnt what I was expecting. But I did enjoy the story. Some things seemed almost.predictable. But regardless, it was a great book. Very well written.
