This is the second book in Andrea Randall's "November Blue" series, and picks up immediately following the end of Ten Days of Perfect. I really enjoyed Ten Days, but this one is a significant step up, both in Andrea's storytelling ability as well as the level of emotional involvement with the characters.

Filled with sexual tension and attraction, I was a little worried going into it because I'm not a huge fan of the boy-girl-boy dynamic, but this story has a tremendous amount of depth which made ...more

Reckless Abandon was a 4.5 star for me
Reckless Abandon is the second book in the November Blue series. You really do have to read Ten Days of Perfect to follow along, as Reckless Abandon picks up right where Ten Days of Perfect left off.
As you may already know by now, I liked Ten Days of Perfect (which left me wanting more of the story)….you will get that MORE in Reckless Abandon. BUT, I really liked/loved reading Reckless Abandon more, as this was Andrea’s second novel and there was not only g Reckless Abandon was a 4.5 star for me
Reckless Abandon is the second book in the November Blue series. You really do have to read Ten Days of Perfect to follow along, as Reckless Abandon picks up right where Ten Days of Perfect left off.
As you may already know by now, I liked Ten Days of Perfect (which left me wanting more of the story)….you will get that MORE in Reckless Abandon. BUT, I really liked/loved reading Reckless Abandon more, as this was Andrea’s second novel and there was not only growth in her writing from Ten Days, but she had me very invested in the characters which led me to writing her to say “What the….Why…..Seriously.....and OMG you are KILLING ME”! This book brought out emotions in me that I did not realize I had for these characters! As I told Andrea if I was not reading this book in PUBLIC, I probably would have been a crying fool! I wish I was alone while reading so that I could have let the book take the full effect of my emotions L....but you read when you can read!
PLEASE NOTE: At all costs, avoid any spoilers of this book – because some tend to give you spoilers and I would REALLY recommend and hope that you get to them on your own, as it changes your reading experience. I want you to read and feel how I felt when I read particular scenes.
Let me start off asking you….after reading Ten Days of Perfect……Team Bo or Team Adrian? Then let’s ask and answer that same question after you read Reckless Abandon! So, does this spoil anything for you? I sure hope not!
The answer to the burning question most of you had after reading Ten Days of Perfect is…….YES! We are getting more Bo! However, you have to read to find out if you are getting exactly what you asked for!
For all you Team Adrian ladies, you will get plenty of Adrian to get your fix. I am Team Bo, I am not ashamed to say…..there were times I was not happy about how things were being played out with Adrian...that is putting it mildly….but holy Adrian! I get the appeal…..and I do feel guilty for not feeling more Team Adrian….because he does not deserve all “my” anger towards him. If Bo was never in the picture I would totally be on the Adrian Team! Being I am a sucker for the whole love at first sight/soul mate thing that we were presented with in Ten Days (even though some tend to find that far-fetched and are not believers…and I agree that in some books it is totally overdone…. BUT I am a believer, not to say that you realize that person is your soul mate at that time necessarily, BUT when I saw my husband for the first time I did say “I am going to marry that guy”. I cannot deny the pull I had to him at that moment or that the whole Romeo & Juliet story we lived was not intense, but we did and do have to work at it every day.
As for the rest of the characters in this series, you will certainly get more Monica and Josh, Raven and Ashby, Rachel, C.J. and in comes REGAN, what’s not to love about this character – you will have to let me know what you think of him ;-)

GAHHHH!!!! So anyone who follows me on twitter knows JUST HOW MUCH I’ve been waiting for this book!!! I fell head over heels in love with Ten Days of Perfect despite wanting to throw my iPad across the room when I finished. But the ending was one of the reasons I LOVED the book, you know, besides Bo! ;)

So when Andrea Randall posted in her readers group on facebook that she just might publish Reckless Abandon early, I began to stalk my notifications, email and amazon religiously despite still being deep into another highly anticipated release that came out only days before. I HAD to know what happened with Bo and Ember – their journey in Ten Days was beautiful and perfect and came to a shattering end that wrecked me. I was definitely Team Bo and Ember heading into Reckless Abandon but what I wasn’t expecting was the roller coaster ride I was taken on as I cheered them on.

Reckless Abandon picks up after Ember gets back home from Concord after finding out that Bo was involved in that fight she saw at the beginning of Ten Days. She felt betrayed and used finding out that Bo knew who she was instantly and that maybe he was using her to protect himself. We all know that’s not the case, but when one falls in love so hard and so quickly, it’s easy to second guess someone’s intention. Despite their breakup, Ember decides to still work with the DROP foundation and Bo is determined to be at least friends with her. But can Ember and Bo stay friends despite a thousand lifetimes of love? Can they continue the collaboration between The Hope Foundation and DROP? Will it cause them to come together or push them further apart?

Everyone is back in Reckless Abandon. Along with Bo and November, Monica, Josh, Rae and Ainsley are all back. Ember’s parents even make it back this time around to support their only daughter through many rather difficult circumstances. What was surprising to me was the friendship formed between Rae, Bo’s sister, and Ember. Despite everything that has happened, Ember values her friendship with Rae and doesn’t want to lose it over Bo. You’ll find yourself rooting along with Monica and Rae as they tell Ember just how they feel about her decision to walk away at the end of Ten Days. Another major player this time is Adrian. Can he convince Ember he really loved her all those years ago and that he never stopped? How will Ember handle two men wanting her love?

Despite the regular characters being back we’re introduced to someone new, Regan. A fiddler player visiting his cousin from Ireland, Regan is instantly clued into what is going on with Ember as they become close during rehearsals. Josh has put together a house band for his bar and Ember and Regan are part of the band. But who Regan actually falls for will leave you giddy and subsequently crushed. Like I said, it’s a roller coaster and it’s those feelings when you’re plummeting down the hill that will leave you breathless.

Andrea Randall doesn’t disappoint with her descriptive paintings either as her previous background in poetry is evident. It’s hard not to get sucked into the world of Ember and Bo when you read things like this: “He fills my thoughts, my dreams, and my nightmares. The memory of him, and his touch, pound on the door to my soul with such force that cracks are forming in the wood. I do my best to act like no one is home by keeping the door locked and the lights off.”

So get your tissue box ready because Reckless Abandon WILL take you on an emotional roller coaster that is sure to bring tears to your eyes and pain to your heart. But the ride is worth it as things wrap up just as beautifully as they started as Ember finds herself amongst all of the pain. The final question for the reader is will her happiness include Bo? Oh, and can we PLEASE have a book 3???

If you liked Ten Days of Perfect, you are going to love and devour Reckless Abandon.

You know that feeling you get when a book gets into your soul? That high you get? I don't know what it feels like for everybody else, but it is a true ache in my bones from my wrist up my forearm. It is so bizarre, but it is when I know a book gets an automatic 5 stars. I crave that ...more

wounded souls are my weakness. add a love that will last a thousand years and I'm hooked. this book was gut wrenching in SO many ways. the ups. the downs. the good. the bad. the "omg did that really just happen?!" I loved it. I was definitely NOT disappointed in this sequel in the least ...more

God I loved these two books!! Reckless Abandon was the perfect ending to November and Bo's story. Although I will say I cried most of my way through this book. These two were heartbreaking and beautiful. I really enjoy Andrea Randall's writing and will definitely be looking out for her future books!!
