Not sure how many stars to give this. I couln't put it down but I wouldn't read it again if you paid me. (OK, fine, make me an offer.) It's a YA dystopian novel doubling as an issue piece about abortion, with a sideline as a horror novel. Honestly, probably wouldn't have read it but it was my book club's pick. Wonderful, fascinating, and a bit sad of a read that's left me reeling with questions.
The biggest question i have is: if 100% of unwinds are to be used,and parents have the right to unwind their children at 13 if they want, what becomes of those with mental illnesses and those with sever birth defects? Are all of them still kept but given new parts from unwound individuals? What if the family can't afford transplanting or do care for those with illness? If they are given up to be unwound, how d ...more

Such an exciting read. Wonderfully written and the characters are so nicely portrayed and developed. can't wait to read the next book.
