description

I don’t understand why this book has such bad and harsh reviews. I know it isn’t the greatest piece of literature ever written, but it was really entertaining. There goes the 5 stars! Pure entertainment.

I absolutely LOVED this one and I am so glad I read it! It was quick, cute, and I couldn't help but to equate it to The Bachelor. LOL

Normally I'm not into "princess" books, but this one was an exception. America is born into a caste system and she is a Five, which is among the poor members of Illea. She has a boyfriend who is a Four, and when the selection comes (view spoiler) To be among the 35 women in the selection mea

Hmm Almost a three due more to my wish for more background info about the country and the way it is run. Felt like there were parts of the setting that needed fleshing out. However, it occurred to me that more might be revealed throughout the series. So I settled on a four. :)

Grabbed this because it's being made into a TV show, and saw a reference on io9. It... was interesting. Not amazing, but okay - I'm curious to see how this will get turned into a show, because it's VERY introspective rather than externally focused, not very action-packed, and... it will take a fair bit of work to make this an engaging YA television run. But there is potential. ...more
