This was an interesting read. Though at times it seemed more like I was reading a Stephanie Plum book than the memoir of a sociologist working on his paper.
After a while though it became hard to believe his shock that bad things happened or were carried out by the people he was interviewing. After six years he should know some of what was going to happen. Not to mention the whole had he never read a book or watch a bad movie about gang exploitation.
