The book is good, it shows the psychology of a very cynical teenage boy; but I guess that the problem for me is that I'm reading it in the wrong time period. Nowadays, language and attitude like those presented in the book are normal fair, whereas for the time it was quite shocking; and since there is no shock value for me to get over, all I really found in the book was a very whiny kid and dim kid with a few moments of saving grace throughout the whole novel.
