I have finally finished the Harry Potter series. As I have mentioned before, I bought book seven (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows) when it first came out, but have been unable to read it. I just didn't want this series to end. However, the other night, I realized I must read it before I can no longer remember what happened in book six! So, here I am -- having finished the series and wanting to weep because it's over. I cannot believe what a creative mind J.K Rowling has. Her prose makes you ...more

My oldest son and I attended the Harry Potter party at our local mall - the entire mall was HP themed. We played Quidditch, had wands made by local artisans, drank butterbeer, had our fortunes told by Professor Trelawney... It was an awesome night. At 12:01 we were the second family lined up to get our book. I started reading that night. Great memory. And great wrap up of the best series.

It wasn't my favorite Harry Potter book (Order of the Phoenix was probably my favorite), but it was a great book. I feel like we learned a lot more about characters other than Harry in this one, and I liked that. ...more
