A thorough and interesting look at industrialized eating, the book is divided into 3 sections (corn, pastures, hunting/gathering). At 400+ pages it's not a quick weekend read, but should be required reading for North Americans. Most readers with a conscience will find the section on corn pretty upsetting (at least politically, and maybe nutritionally). Eye opening and highly fascinating. A must read if for no other reason than to understand where your food really comes from. Pollan brings the thunder in this original before he went on and tried to follow up this smash with slightly diluted follow ups. You'll never look at the supermarket the same way again. Makes for great dinner conversation...
