I think the reason I liked it - The Girl on the Train - is because of the quality of the audiobook. Three different women characters voiced by three different women, picked well and who were really good at portraing a wide range of emotions, most of them dark.

The book really has that "Gone Girl" feel (similarly composed, similar mood and plotline) but it's less dark and less interesting. At least the first half of the book left me bored and confused. I didn't care much for the main character and the whole story didn't seem that gripping. Fortunately, the second half is much better and makes more sense. In general I liked the book, I just wish the mystery had started from the beginning and not just in the last chapters.
