Update 6/7/20: I recently stumbled upon this thread on Twitter, with all the buzz about the movie adaptation receiving a director. Will be revisiting this soon to reflect, given that it was a book I remember enjoying several years ago. In the meantime, I will be making a conscious effort to seek out more books written by BIPOC authors.
