Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) in Addicted to YA

This is the second book in the Hush Hush series and I think it might be better than the original!

Angels are usually not my cup of tea when it comes to Paranormal Romance but I think I will make an exception after reading about the sexy bad boy/guardian angel AKA Nora’s boyfriend Patch. Patch was moved up from Fallen Angel to Nora’s Guardian Angel after saving her in Hush Hush. And things seemed like they were pretty hot and heavy for the pair at the beginning of Crescendo but of course we can’t This is the second book in the Hush Hush series and I think it might be better than the original!

And things seemed like they were pretty hot and heavy for the pair at the beginning of Crescendo but of course we can’t leave them happy and drama free, no of course not!
Stuff happens, the archangels threaten to throw Patch in hell if he gets involved with a charge (Nora). So Nora breaks it off and Patch starts to date Marcie Millar. This is Nora’s sworn enemy who will do anything to mess with Nora’s life, so now Nora is really pissed at Patch for real.
So throw this in the story, an old playmate comes to town with some weird secrets, someone is out to kill Nora, again but this time Patch is not around to help. Oh and Nora thinks she’s seeing her dead father around town. There is a new villain it looks like as well call The Black Hand (where the fuck did this name come from?). All this and a couple more secrets and you pretty much get Crescendo.

The Good: It kept me very entertained and I couldn’t put it down at times.
The feud between Marcie and Nora added some laughter. I can’t believe high school girls can be so petty!
I really couldn’t figure out what was going to happen until the very last part, which is nice because a lot of times I can see what’s coming pretty much right away.

The Bad: I think Crescendo has a little too much going on at times. Too many plots and twists that made it seem jumbled.
And there was not nearly enough Patch time! It kind of reminded me of New Moon where Edward broke up with Bella in beginning and didn’t come back until the end. Patch did make appearances here and there but it just had that vibe. Oh and Nora and Patch’s fights felt very very juvenile.

This is definitely a book I’m glad I read despite some of the issues I had with it because overall I really liked it and I recommend it to anyone who likes YA Paranormal Romance.
I plan to continue with the series and pick up Silence pretty soon especially since Crescendo left me with a cliffhanger and still lots of questions. ...more

This was really a 3.5 stars book for me. It was very sad (I don't recommend reading it when your pregnant and late at night). I like the characters and the plot, but I didn't like the dishonesty or maybe just the lack of communication between the two main characters, which led to a bunch of other problems. I will still read the third and am hoping that one will be better. ...more

Not sure why I don't like this as much as I liked the Fallen series. This is a decent series and I'm sure that many students would like it. Lots of innuendo but nothing on the page. Good for middle and high school students. ...more

Excellent, and just as gripping as the first title.
One word of advice though: massive cliffhanger of doom! (ok, that was 4 words... but, when does the next book come out? First chapter teaser?)
