Sooooo beautiful, sad, heartwarming (and yet heartbreaking), funny, intelligent....

Original rating and review: 5 stars

Cannot believe I laughed so much and cried so much during the same book. It doesn't really warrant a review. Just a good thorough reading with lots of emotions involved.

What a great story. When you read a story where the two main protagonists have cancer, you figure you may run into some sad moments. But what I didn't expect was to read a book filled with such fun dialog (reminded me of the way they conversed on Gilmore Girls) and such touching moments. It was a story of a girl and a boy, but also a story of a girl and her family and I think that's one aspect of the story I fixated on and related to most. I loved the scenes between Hazel and her parents and how ...more

This is a fantastic book! I LOVED it. It is on my list of favorites for sure. The characters are sweet. The story is sad, realistic, and touching. And the thoughts and feelings of the book are right on. Such a good read!!! Highly recommend it!

I was disappointed to see how short this book was. Short it maybe, but packed full of meat. Its almost as if every word in this book was a marvel in itself. I can understand people not liking the way the book is written. To me the writing is perfection. I left this book - feeling it had so much insight in the rawness of being a teenager with a terminal disease. I found myself loving Hazel. I watched the previews sure it was going to be the typical love story. It is not. Read it.

I have to say, I was a little disappointed in this book. It didn't grab me and make me not want to stop reading. I didn't fall in love with the characters and the storyline was just meh.

Just my opinion, but I don't understand why there is all this hoopla.
