According to the Faction's Quiz I am equally Candor, Amity and Dauntlness! Yay for Divergency!!!!!! And I agree, those are definitely factions I fit well in; I'm blunt, LIke to be happy and I am pretty brave, though I'll never get a tactoo. I love Four! I love Four! Not as much as Adrian but I love Four!!!!!! I will always be surprised at how much I adore this book! Re-read it again yesterday, June 19th 2012 with the first copy i bought. Last time I read it, it was with a dusty, hardcover librar

There were a lot of things I liked about Divergent. The characters were well drawn and engaging. The story was fast paced and exciting and kept me reading. The romance was real and compelling. I really loved Tris's relationship with her mother. However, I only gave the book four stars because I didn't like the violence.

I'm normally hesitant to pick up anything YA, since the genre and I don't always get along. However, seeing that the movie depiction is set to be released soon, I felt I had to read the book before seeing the movie. The plot looked interesting and the ratings were good, so I grabbed it. I'm glad I did! Tris was a very interesting character, and getting inside her head was a pleasure. It's refreshing to have such a strong-willed female character in a YA book, and Tris was definitely that! The rom

I found Divergent to be an exciting, fast-paced book that brought up some important issues, without hitting the reader over the head with them. For example, what does it mean to belong somewhere? And, if you live with a group that has certain values, do you have to either hold to all of them or leave? If you do leave, do you have to completely assimilate to your new community? Can you ever belong in two places at once?

I borderline HATED this book. The characters are flat and the description is almost non-existent. The author tells us what the main character is feeling but there is no explanation as to why. It was pretty much impossible to relate to or empathize with the main character at all. The only time the author seemed to bother with any description of HOW the character feels (versus simply TELLING US) was during the moments of her budding sexual attraction to one of the other characters.

Very good-esp if you forget about Hunger Games. Many of the same elements--strong female protagonist, adventure, romance, resourcefulness. Liked the setting since I've been to Chicago and know many of the locations described in the book. Read it in one day.
