What Members Thought

Student book club pick and a BEAUTIFUL cover. This should have been right up my alley with the Mozart siblings and fantasy but it just really didn't capture my attention until very late in the book, therefore 4 stars. Nannerl seemed somewhat selfish and yet so meek (as probably was true in that time frame) and yet she did seem to love her brother. But I can sort of understand why she would be angry about not being able to compose simply because she was a girl. And I love how that was portrayed.

Goddamit this book was good and so unexpected. I already knew that I liked Marie Lu as an author, but this is so different from anything else I've read by her and I absolutely loved it. It was beautiful and magical and a little creepy. We follow the Mozart children when they were kids and as they grow up, with Nannerl being the MC and Wolfgang, her little brother. I loved the music in this book, and the lyricism in the writing just lent itself so well to this story. The time period is fascinatin
